Do I read the 1.90 release notes correctly that soem VS 2010 EF4 featurers will be stopped for licences pre 2010 , if so what do we do to upgrade
I thought that this licesne was a "Lifetime" license or am I confusing this with another product ??

Hi Mike,
All existing features will continue working for pre-2010 licenses, and you can install upcoming updates without losing any of the existing features.
The "2010-license" only applies to some of the newly added EFv4 specific features (e.g. the 'complex type generator' in v 1.90). Additions and fixes to the existing features are not affected.
It was a hard decision, but the choice was between making some of the new things a new product or incorporate it in the existing one. However, it had to be done to support the development of the new features.
I will look into adding some reasonable renewal option for existing licenses. Will let you know...
Best regards, Kristofer

Hi Kristopher
I shall be eventually getting VS2010 so is there any movement on this
Maybe you may want to consider some of the methods other companies use, say a %age of the product cost as an annual renewal fee.
As long as the % isn't too high , its probably the fairest way.
Certainy I do not want to buy a 2010 license to get what just for the extras, as I probably have 90% of teh context already ,also including the profiler may dter people , having now no choice as a separate product.
Hope this helps
Mike

Hi,
Yes, an "Upgrade 2008/2009 license to EF4 feature set" option is available now at the product page ( www.huagati.com/dbmltools ) under the Download/Licensing tab.
Just for clarification: there is no need to upgrade the license just to use the add-in under Visual Studio 2010 with the existing feature set.
A license issued during 2010 (or upgraded using the upgrade option) is only needed to take advantage of the newest features added for Entity Framework v4: a) the EFv4 complex type extractor that was added in version 1.90, and b) the EFv4 model comparer which is being added in version 1.91, and c) other yet-to-be-announced Entity Framework v4-specific features
