When performing a sync between the diagram and the db I often receive the following error message:
"the connection property in the application settings fie is missing or incorrect. the connection string from the .dbml file has been used in its place."

That's strange. The add-in shouldn't do anything with app.config/web.config or the connection mode. Is the same dbml file shared between more than one project?

The DMBL file is not shared across multiple projects, the project is referenced multiple time in other projects though.

Hi Kristofer,
I'm pretty sure I finally figured out how to repro.
1) Open Server Explorer
2) Expand out the DB the LinqToSql diagram is tied to
3) Open Table Definition
4) I usually make a change, I don't know if this is required to repro
5) Open the Diagram
6) Start the Sync
7) The error is generated
